Chartered Professional Accountant in Toronto

Precision, in every filing

Clients come to Ashlar with a requirement and a deadline. They leave the first meeting with a defined scope, a confirmed fee and a delivery date, and the file thereafter rests with a Chartered Professional Accountant.

About the firm

Ashlar is a Toronto practice led by a Chartered Professional Accountant, advising owner-managed corporations and self-employed professionals throughout the Greater Toronto Area. The practice was established on engagements that lenders rely upon before extending credit, and that discipline informs every file it accepts.

Clients deal directly with the accountant responsible for their engagement. Scope and fees are confirmed before any work begins, records may be exchanged securely online or reviewed in person, and clients are kept informed at each stage.

Our process

Engaging the firm follows a straightforward sequence.

1

Access

We meet in person or remotely to review the current state of your records and establish precisely what the engagement requires.

2

Structure

Your records are brought into order and prepared to the standard expected by the party who will review them, with outstanding matters resolved at the outset.

3

Sustain

The engagement then continues on an agreed schedule. Filing dates are monitored by the firm, and each year-end is reached in an orderly manner.

The Ashlar Standard

Clarity in every number

Every engagement is prepared to withstand review, whether by a lender, the Canada Revenue Agency or a prospective purchaser. That standard is applied consistently, irrespective of the size of the file.

04

Why Ashlar

The considerations clients cite most often when recommending the practice.

One senior point of contact

Each engagement is handled by the accountant who prepares it, giving clients a single point of contact from the first meeting to the final delivery.

Fixed, transparent fees

Fees are agreed before any work is undertaken. Should the scope of an engagement change, clients are advised in advance rather than on the invoice.

Cloud-first systems

Records are exchanged securely online, bank feeds are connected where appropriate, and meetings may be held remotely. Your records remain accessible to you at all times.

A calendar that never slips

Statutory and lender deadlines are monitored by the firm, and the date we commit to is the date you may confirm to others.
